Clearly, it's better under the sea. "Going Up" originally began as a traditional 'curling wave' painting. As it progressed, my perspective began to shift, and shift, and shift, until I found myself painting the water's surface as seen from below, seagrass reaching up toward the sun, following the lead of lens flare and some silvery bubbles.
